When Christmas is all done and it’s time to clean up, I use an ornament storage box with dividers like these to get everything organized and ready for next year. Over the years, I’ve collected a number of themed decorations for my tree and because I put them on in order (first the apples, then the angels, then the white china, etc.), keeping them separated that way makes it so much easier to get the tree up the next year.
If you’ve put off organizing your ornaments it’s time to take the plunge. Every year from here on out will be that much easier for you to deal with. Just think of all the time you’ll save!

Cardboard Ornament Storage Boxes with Dividers
Cardboard ornament organizers are convenient because they have flat bottoms and tops so they’ll stack easily on shelves or on other containers. Just make sure you use them in an area with low humidity so they don’t weaken over time.
While only one of these are cardboard, the other two are much sturdier but have a similar feel and will hold a lot of decorations and all three come with dividers.

Satin-lined Fiberboard Divided Ornament Box – Holds 52
Chipboard Candy Cane Ornament Storage Box with Dividers – Holds 45
Plastic Ornament Storage Box with Dividers
Personally, I prefer the plastic ornament containers because all of my Christmas decor gets stored under my basement stairs – the same place where my septic pump is located. Should it leak, I want to make sure that my ornaments are safe in water-proof containers. (Especially any with special memories like the ones my kids have made or the one my husband and I got for our first Christmas together.)
All three of the following use cardboard dividers to separate each ornament.

Wing-Lid Top Ornament Box
This storage box by Iris has great consumer reviews. The benefit of the wing lid is that you don’t have to detach or remove the lid in order to reach your ornaments.
If, like me, you’ve ever found yourself with 10 different sized tubs sitting around your tree and a stack of lids all around you know what a pain it is to find the right lid at the right time and put the container back together.
This box comes with very sturdy cardboard dividers and has 3 layers that each hold 25 ornaments for total storage capacity of 75. If you have an overly large piece, you can remove a divider to make extra room.
Not only do these stack together but right now Amazon has a discount if you buy more than one so the price on two or more is really pretty cheap!
Red Ornament Organizers with Handles and Dividers
If you store all of your holiday decorations in one place, color coding your space by using red boxes for Christmas helps you find them quickly. Or, if you have your spouse or kids help you when it’s time to pull things out you can just tell them the color of the boxes to bring out.
What better color for Christmas storage than red, right?
On top of that, these boxes have comfortable side handles.
